Alice leads the firm’s environmental and planning group. She has advised extensively on a range of transport, energy, environmental and marine projects including the Dublin Waste to Energy PPP; Greystones Harbour and Marina PPP; various waste infrastructure projects including landfills, biowaste and recycling projects in the Dublin and South East Regions; social and affordable housing and urban regeneration projects; road and tunnel projects; the East-West Interconnector project and a proposed sub-sea marine observatory project.
 
She has advised a range of public and private sector clients on issues such as Environmental Impact and Strategic Environmental Assessment; Environmental Liability; Control of Major Accident Hazards (Seveso); Shellfish and Fisheries Protections; Special Areas of Conservation and Natural Heritage Areas; marine and foreshore developments; sub-sea cables and maritime safety and jurisdiction issues; waste water and treatment facilities; planning applications, compliance and enforcement, application of the Planning & Development (Strategic Infrastructure) Act 2006 and its implementing Regulations; Building Regulations, energy efficiency ratings and development exemptions; development contribution schemes; construction & PPP projects and agreements.
 
Alice practices within the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution unit, focusing on regulatory compliance litigation in planning, environment, data protection and competition law. She has acted for clients defending criminal proceedings by the Environmental Protection Agency, the Health and Safety Authority, the Competition Authority and planning authorities. She has also prosecuted cases on behalf of the Data Protection Commissioner. She is acting for a private litigant in private competition enforcement proceedings against a major telecommunications company in the Competition Division of the High Court and has represented a number of clients in investigations conducted by the Competition Authority and the DPP. She has also conducted a number of planning hearings including the Dublin Waste to Energy PPP project oral hearing in 2007 and the Dublin Docklands Development Authority CPO of Hanover Quay oral hearing in 2003.
 
Alice graduated from University College Dublin in 1998 with an Honours Degree in Law and was admitted to the Law Society Roll of Solicitors in 2001. She is a member of the Irish Environmental Law Association and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association. Her publications include: “Leniency Regimes Book: 2nd Edition” – European Lawyer (2007); “Development Contributions and Planning Gain” - Construction & Property News (2007); “Prisons Bill 2006 – Planning Issues” - Public Affairs Ireland (2006); “Time for the EPA to bring out its big enforcement guns” - Public Affairs Ireland (2005); “Director and shareholder liability for environmental damage” – Environment & Energy Ireland (2003); “Irish Planning Law and Practice” – LexisNexis (co-author from 2000- 2003).
