Richard recently joined the firm and comes with invaluable experience, having advised in many high profile and large scale Irish construction projects. He has over 12 years experience in specialist projects and construction practices in Ireland and Australia, both in contentious and non-contentious roles.
Richard has practiced in Ireland since 2001. Prior to joining Philip Lee, he held the position of partner at a well known Dublin firm, having worked there for five years and where he headed that firm’s non-contentious construction group. Richard first qualified as a solicitor in 1995 in New South Wales, Australia and worked for several years in that jurisdiction as a senior associate. In addition, he is admitted to practice in New Zealand (2001) and Ireland (2003). Amongst his other qualifications Richard holds a Diploma of Arbitration (UCD), is a CEDR Accredited Mediator (2008) and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
During his time in Ireland Richard has had extensive experience advising in relation to some of the largest infrastructure and construction projects in the country including in particular in the context of Ireland's PPP program. His expertise includes drafting and advising on contracts for building and engineering works at all tiers, contracts for design consultancy services, project/construction management services, collateral warranty documentation and agreements for all facets of PPP project work, property development and infrastructure provision.
